Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the historic ceremony to hoist the ‘Dharam Dhwaj’ (Religious Flag) atop the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on November 25. The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust formally invited the Prime Minister, and he has indicated his intention to grace the monumental event. This ceremony marks a significant milestone, signifying the completion of the temple’s main structure.
The Trust is currently finalizing an elaborate plan to organise five-day long religious ceremonies that will precede the flag-hoisting. These rituals will imbue the temple with spiritual energy and prepare the site for the symbolic mounting of the flag. This series of events will transform Ayodhya into a hub of religious fervour, drawing devotees and media attention from across the globe.
Nripendra Misra, Chairman of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Construction Committee, confirmed the development. Speaking to reporters, Misra stated that the construction of the temple will be complete by November 25. This adherence to the deadline is a major achievement for the Trust and the construction teams involved.
Misra further added that the temple will be open for devotees to visit the entire complex from this date. This announcement will bring immense joy to millions of devotees who have eagerly awaited the chance to witness the completed temple and offer their prayers. The Trust has meticulously planned the logistics to manage the expected rush of pilgrims while ensuring a smooth and spiritual experience.
The centre of this grand ceremony is the 21-foot ‘Dharam Dhwaj’, which the Trust will mount atop the temple’s Shikhar (spire). In Hindu tradition, hoisting the temple flag is a powerful religious act, symbolising the deity’s victory, presence, and protection over the site.
The Shikhar, the highest point of the structure, will now proudly bear the flag, making the temple visible from afar and announcing its spiritual significance to the world. Misra highlighted the spiritual weight of the dhwaj, reinforcing the temple’s role as a major religious landmark.
While the main temple structure is nearing completion, the development of the wider complex continues. Misra provided an update on the remaining construction phases.
- Boundary Wall: The construction of the boundary wall surrounding the temple complex will continue for an estimated one and a half years. This wall is essential for both the security and the overall aesthetic framing of the sacred premises.
- Auditorium: The construction of the auditorium, a key component for spiritual discourse and public events, will conclude in the first six months of 2026. This facility will serve as a venue for religious congregations, cultural programs, and educational activities, further enriching the Ram Mandir complex.
The Prime Minister’s presence at the flag-hoisting ceremony underscores the national and historical importance of the Ram Mandir project. His attendance is expected to elevate the event’s profile and ensure widespread coverage, reinforcing Ayodhya’s status as a paramount religious destination.
As the five-day religious ceremonies approach, the world turns its attention to Ayodhya, eagerly awaiting the moment the Dharam Dhwaj is unfurled, marking a new chapter for the ancient city and its iconic temple.
